Traditional vaidu & Professional Training Program
Maharashtra health services development project, Mumbai, implemented this program that involved giving professional training traditional vaidu in villages thus providing vaidu with quality medical knowledge through our NGO. This program is for improving health status of “Adiwasies” due to misconception about many services for Adiwasies (Scheduled tribes) response is not that much there. Through science has done dramatic progress, Adiwasies still depends on traditional vaidus near by them. It is very give matter, in to days world. Their tradition has been from generation to generation are established in their own society. So, it is quite hard to deviate from if for them and for us to make them deviate and seek medical help. But, as our NGO has wide experience with their, understanding of their social customs. Our workers along with guidance from health officers of government made this program a great success. This program was implemented in Yavatmal, Arni, Pandharkawda, Ralegaon, Pusad, Ner, Ghatangi Taluka of Yavamtal District. Resident vaidus of this areas responded positively to this program.Vaduz who participited in the training were given the participatory training guide book and certificates by District Health Dept.
vaidus were though to use their great experience to treat many types of diseases, usage of modern medicine to lower down percentage of diseases. In training information about traditional vaidu profession training introduction, misbelieve misconception about health matters, types diseases, pneumonia, TB, colera, vaccination, secured motherhood, difficulties in deliveries, malnutrition, malaria, child health, breast feeding, family welfare, leprosy, snake and Scorpio bites, goiter, etc was given to them. People have great faith in treatment of avid, if their treatment when coupled with scientific knowledge and method of to days, thus lower down the complications in treatment and patient will receive suitable, timely treatment will be saved from take, blind belief practices. This treatment help skill of traditional vaidu. This is how it served great purpose.Such training program helps to develop and enlarge the scientific knowledge and enhance skill for if and set positive view paint or mindset of about heath. Thus, this purpose of organization was fulfilled with help of this program implementation.
